Packard Legacy Weekend
July 1-4, 2016

The 27th Annual Packard Legacy Weekend will celebrate Warren’s rich manufacturing heritage with a four day industrial art and cultural festival July 1-4, 2016. The festival will feature educational programming, fine art, live music, and demonstrations of cutting edge technology. Each day’s events will focus on a different theme: History, Future Technology, Automobiles & Industry, and American Heritage.

On Friday we will celebrate “History” with a full slate of entertaining and informative programs at the museum and the new “Pioneers of Progress/ Titans of Industry” tour of Oakwood Cemetery.

On Saturday we will explore “Future Technology” with special demonstrations and exhibits of cutting edge technology along with musical performances and an exhibition of industrial art in Packard Music Hall.

On Sunday, July 3rd we will celebrate “Automobiles and Industry” with “Cruise-In the Park,” a classic car show featuring the Packard marque, presented by the Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club. “Cruise-In the Park” will open at noon with over 100 classic cars exhibited on Packard Music Hall’s beautiful South Lawn (weather permitting). This upscale event will include a fine art exhibit by local artists and an outdoor concert by the W.D. Packard Dixieland Band. Other features include door prizes, 50/50 raffle, and food concessions. The show concludes at 4:00 pm with an awards ceremony honoring the best of the classic cars to grace the show field.

On Monday we will celebrate “Our American Heritage” with a “courtyard tailgating party,” fireworks, and a gala concert by the W.D. Packard Concert Band. More details on the courtyard tailgating party to follow.

Micro Cars - Mini Wonders
September 1 - December 23, 2016

Everything “tiny” seems trendy today and the museum is embracing the fad by bringing back its popular microcar exhibit after a four year absence. “Micro Cars: Mini Wonders” will showcase some of smallest and most unusual sports cars ever built. These sporty vehicles, which will include Crosleys, King Midgets, Isettas, and Messerschmidts, will be displayed alongside our beautiful long and low-slung Packards, which will accentuate their tiny size and quirky design.

Start Your Engines Local Racing Exhibit
October 1 - December 23, 2016

This special local racing exhibit returns for a second straight year. The exhibit will focus on open wheel racing and commemorate the cars and their drivers along with the local tracks where they raced. The exhibit will feature a number of vintage racers that show the evolution of racing from children’s go-carts to big block super-modified racers and Indy cars. The exhibit will include two “Coffee and Donuts” seminars, including a presentation by Lynn Paxton, curator of the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing in York, Pennsylvania.
